The New York Academy of Sciences (NYAS) and Takeda Corporation have opened nominations for the 2019 Innovators in Science Award, in the field of Regenerative Medicine.

Two prizes of US$200,000 will be awarded, one to an Early-Career Scientist and the other to a well-established Senior Scientist. The winning scientists will have distinguished themselves for the creativity and impact of their research in the field of Regenerative Medicine.

More information on the scheme can be found in the flyer and here.

University Internal selection:

We have been invited to submit one Early-Career Scientist nomination and one Senior Scientist nomination. Therefore, this call will be managed according to the University’s restricted calls policy.

To take part in the internal selection process please submit the following to by 09 May 2018:

·         The internal selection form (one completed per nominee, denoting their status as Early-Career or Senior Scientist)

·         The nominee’s CV (up to 4 pages – example attached)

·         A support letter from the Head of the Department/Centre/Institute that will hold the award, confirming their support for the nomination and agreement to host the award

·         For Early-Career Nominees only: A future research plan (500 words), elaborating plans for future work with potential for significant achievement in the field of Regenerative Medicine

Please note that if the nominee is directly in receipt of current or prior research funding from the Takeda Pharmaceutical Company Limited or its affiliates, they are not eligible for nomination. This is based on Takeda’s conflict of interest (COI) policy. General support from Takeda to the University does not constitute a COI, however. Please review the list of affiliates, and if you are still unsure about a nominee’s COI status, feel free to reach out to us prior to internal submission at

Funder deadline: 25 June 2018
