Public Engagement: writing news features and attracting an audience

This interactive half day course will be delivered by members of the University’s News and Communications teams and an external co-trainer and will introduce researchers to working effectively with the media. The course will identify when to work on a feature article rather than a news release, highlight methods and creative writing styles to catch and then hold the attention of a reader, show how to pitch an article to a media outlet and how to use online tools to attract an audience.
