Restricted call: Innovate UK / MRC / CRUK call Enabling Integrated Diagnostics for Early Detection
Innovate UK have announced a call in collaboration with MRC and CRUK for Enabling integrated diagnostics for early detection.
The aim is to integrate across technologies, data, care pathways and systems to deliver new diagnostic systems for the early detection and diagnosis of diseases. This competition aims to accelerate development of innovative diagnostic tools and technologies by multi-disciplinary and cross-sector consortia. Innovate UK will invest up to £17 million in the research, development and evaluation of integrated diagnostic solutions. An additional investment of up to £3 million is available for oncology-focused projects from Cancer Research UK.
The applications can be led by a UK registered business, an academic institution, a hospital or other research and technology and NHS organisations. Each consortium must have at least 3 partners (including the lead) and involve:
· A micro, small or medium sized enterprise (SME)
· An NHS organisation or academic partner.
Disease areas in scope include but are not limited to: cancer, cardiovascular disease, incl. stoke, inflammatory disorders, including autoimmune disease, metabolic diseases, neurodegenerative diseases, including dementia, paediatric and maternal-foetal, co-morbidities. Infectious diseases and mental health cannot be focus of the application but can be included within a co-morbidity setting. For further information on the call follow this link.
University Internal selection:
Institutions can only lead on two applications. Therefore, this call will be managed according to the University's restricted calls policy.
To take part in the internal selection process please submit the attached internal selection form together with a support letter from the Head of the Department / Centre / Institute that will hold the grant, confirming their support for the project and agreement to host the grant email@example.com by Thursday 15 August 2019.
Funder deadline: on Wednesday 25 September 2019.
