Cross disciplinary Post Doc position available immediately in PDN

This postdoctoral position at the interface between biophysics and neurobiology is available immediately in the lab of Kristian Franze. The lab combines biophysical and cell biological approaches to understand the influence of physical cues on the functioning of the nervous system.
The project aims at investigating the role of forces in neuronal axon formation. Cellular forces will be studied with a variety of techniques including traction force microscopy and confocal laser scanning microscopy.
The successful candidate should hold a PhD in biophysics, cell or neurobiology, physics, engineering or a related subject with sound knowledge in cell biology or experimental biophysics. Experience with traction force microscopy, Matlab, and/or primary neuronal cultures would be an advantage. Motivation to work in a multidisciplinary environment is fundamental to this position. An ability to independently take responsibility over his/her own project as well as good teamwork and communication skills are expected.
