UKRI-BBSRC Bioscience Big Ideas Pipeline

UKRI-BBSRC has launched the ‘Bioscience Big Ideas Pipeline’, a pilot programme through which UKRI-BBSRC aims to engage with their broad research and innovation community in a quest to identify adventurous and exciting ideas that have the potential to be transformational.

They are looking for ideas that will capture the imagination of researchers, the public, industry and government. By doing so, they aim to have a pipeline of ideas at various stages of development, so that when opportunities arise there are potential bioscience concepts developed and ready to take forward.

The big ideas process is not in itself a call for proposals because there is no dedicated funding aligned to this activity. However, by developing big ideas other avenues could be inspired by the idea itself as well as the potential to be part of the pipeline of ideas.

The process is designed to capture and review exciting community-led ideas (across the Research Council research areas) to inform the development of future research and innovation strategy and this in turn could potentially attract investment or lead to support for community activities.

We encourage as many individual proposals as possible but there will also be an institutional response.

To take part submit the attached form to Guidance can be found hereThere is no deadline, but there will be a first round of assessment during August.
