What makes us different from other training?
What we do is take a practical approach with solutions for REAL world clients. Not just the ones in research studies! We give you the know-how to identify what motivates clients to make tough changes in therapy and the skills to use that information to facilitate valued change.
Feedback from previous delegates have said that they really valued Heather's willingness to demonstrate clinical skills. Where possible Heather works with an actor to demonstrate skills and to allow practice of theraputic skills.

Research indicates that OCD can be as damaging to a person’s quality of life as schizophrenia. Furthermore, approximately 40-60% of people with OCD do not or only partially respond to initial treatments.
The use of specialist CBT, adapted specifically for OCD is paramount in these cases. This course is BPS Approved using OCD focused CBT. We use professional actors to play 'clients' where ever possible to offer you clinically useful training.
Who Should Attend?

The course is suitable for psychologists and other CBT mental health practitioners who would like to improve their skills and competencies with OCD. Attendees should be competent with fundamental CBT skills as these will be assumed knowledge within the workshop, giving us time instead to focus on CBT methods specific to OCD. This concise two day workshop will give you the knowledge you need and the practical skills in this key area.

Your facilitator Dr Heather Sequeira

Heather uses an engaging blend of demonstrations, theory, research studies, case histoires and hands on exercises to provide practical skills for attendees to take away and use. Heather delivers effective techniques and relevant case material.

Heather has vast clinical experience in mental health giving regular input to British Psychological Society CPD, doctoral training programmes and teaching other professionals. She has particular interest in PTSD, OCD and the other anxiety disorders. Her combined knowledge of clinical practice, extensive experience and excellent training skills make her an excellent and stimulating trainer to work with.
