CSaP Annual Conference - 14th April 2015

Invitation to take part in the CSaP Annual Conference & Poster Session

Murray Edwards College, 14 April 2015

As part of the Centre for Science and Policy 2015 Annual Conference on 14 April, we are planning a poster session and competition to which you are invited to present a poster of your research.  This session will provide an opportunity for early career researchers to discuss their research with an audience of policy makers, industry leaders and academics, as well as attendees from research councils and learned societies.

We have a limited number of places on offer, and successful applicants will be chosen to ensure we cover a broad range of disciplines and research areas from all backgrounds.  There will be a prize awarded for the best poster.  If you would like to take part, please see below.

How to prepare your poster

You will need to think carefully about your target audience – most of whom will be non-experts.  While your poster conveys the science, you should be prepared to explain your research, bearing in mind where possible its potential societal benefits.  Those taking part in this session will be judged on:

·         Best poster summary: Clear and concise communication of your research using a poster (and demos where appropriate)

·         Verbal communication: How you explain your research to non-experts and its potential to impact on society

The poster session will take place during the lunch and networking sessions.  Alternatively, it may be more appropriate for you to give a demo of your research.

How to apply

To accept this invitation, please rsvp to 2015postercompetition@csap.cam.ac.uk in the first instance with your details (name, university/department and research area), and include a short abstract of your research.

The latest conference agenda, and list of speakers and sponsors, can be found on our website: http://www.csap.cam.ac.uk/events/csap-annual-conference-2015/.
