Congratulations to Dr James Rowe on Wellcome Trust Senior Research Fellowship renewalDr James Rowe was awarded by the Wellcome Trust the renewal of his prestigious Senior Research Fellowship in Clinical Science, to study "Restoring brain function: from cortical microcircuits to complex James studies the cognitive physiology of neurodegenerative disease, including Parkinson's disease (PD) and frontotemporal dementia (FTD), using magnetoencephalography and magnetic resonance imaging. His Fellowship focuses on the potential of serotonergic and noradrenergic drugs to reduce impulsivity, which is a harmful consequence of both PD and FTD. The combination of brain imaging with psychopharmacology provides a powerful platform to understand the causes of cognitive and behavioural change in neurodegenerative disease, and also provides sensitive methods to evaluate the efficacy and mechanisms of novel therapeutics Posted on 19/05/2014 Further newsGo to the news index page. |
