Workshop: The future of in-vitro diagnostics - a regulatory perspective

How can regulators strike a reasonable balance between supporting diagnostic innovation and proving rigorous independent evaluation of new diagnostic tests before they enter clinical practice?
In this workshop, we will hear from Alberto Gutierrez (former Director of FDA's Office of In Vitro Diagnostic Device Evaluation and Safety), Robyn Meurant (World Health Organisation) and Stuart Hogarth (University of Cambridge) and consider regulatory developments in the context of the US response to the genomic revolution in biomedicine as well as the need for safe and effective diagnostics in low and middle-income countries.

Cambridge New Therapeutics Forum (CamNTF): Medicines Safety

The February meeting of the Cambridge New Therapeutics Forum (CamNTF) is now open for registration. This scientific forum is open to all scientists interested in research and development of new therapeutics in Cambridge and the local area, including scientists at the University, Addenbrooke’s Hospital, pharmaceutical companies, biotechs, CROs, and not-for-profit organisations. The aim is to promote interactions between scientists at these organisations to improve opportunities for biotechnology research and development.
Hear from Prof Chris Dobson on his work towards therapeutic approaches for Alzheimer’s as well as talks from Melinda Duer and Robert Phipps.
