Do you want to use your scientific expertise to influence programme content and production? The Science Media Studentships enable bright, articulate and motivated scientists to explore a career in the broadcast industry. The Wellcome Trust are offering financial support for two biomedical scientists to "Being on the course has been a hugely rewarding experience; I have been given an invaluable insight into the theory behind communicating science and making films, as well as a wealth of skills that will aid my transition into the broadcast sector," said Kelly Neaves who won the Studentship award in 2010. Dominic Rees-Roberts, also a 2010 award winner, said: "I've come away from the course with the confidence that I can go into a television production company and make useful contributions to the production process". Applications are now open. Applicants must have a PhD in the biomedical sciences and be resident in the UK. Deadline for applications is Friday 25 February 2011.
