Congratulations to Professor Trevor Robbins on WT Senior Investigator award
Cambridge Neuroscience would like to congratulate Professor Trevor Robbins on his Senior Investigator Award entitled 'Fronto-striatal systems in impulsive-compulsive disorders'. The award from the Wellcome Trust is worth £2,982,219 over 74 months. Professor Robbins is the Head of Department of Psychology and this year was awarded the Brain Prize along with Professor Stanislas Dehaene and Professor Giacomo Rizzolatti for their pioneering research on higher brain mechanisms underpinning such complex human functions as literacy, numeracy, motivated behaviour and social cognition, and for their efforts to understand cognitive and behavioural disorders.
Trevor's interests span the areas of cognitive neuroscience, behavioural neuroscience and psychopharmacology. My work focuses on functions of the frontal lobes of the brain and their connections with other regions, including the so-called brain reward systems in the striatum and the limbic system.
