Mental Health Translator postion available with the Medical Research Council

The Medical Research Council is looking to appoint a ‘translator’ to help with its planned programme of experimental medicine for mental health -which will be launched shortly.

The person appointed will need to facilitate and broker collaborations between academic groups (basic and clinical) and bio industry in the area of mental health research in order to identify and foster areas for collaboration that will promote translational research towards new therapies.

The MRC have a number of requirements but one is the ability to identify research opportunities that might have potential for translation. Knowledge of the regulatory requirements needed to take research from the laboratory into humans (e.g. GMP, EU Directive) will be essential.
