The Chris Abell Postdoc
Business Plan Competition 2021
The Postdoc Business Plan Competition has become a key annual event in the University's entrepreneurial ecosystem and has spawned a number of successful spin-out companies.
In 2020 the competition was renamed to honour the life and career of the late Chris Abell, Pro-Vice-Chancellor for Research and Professor of Biological Chemistry.
This year's competition will be open for entry from Wednesday 28th April.
To support you during the process, we shall be hosting a number of online sessions which will assist you in your application. Whether it's a ground-breaking invention or a social enterprise, whatever your academic expertise, we want to hear from you
Part of the University of Cambridge, Cambridge Enterprise supports academics, researchers, staff and students in achieving knowledge transfer and research impact. We do this by helping innovators, experts and entrepreneurs use commercial avenues to develop their ideas and expertise for the benefit of society, the economy, themselves and the University.
Liaising with organisations both locally and globally, we offer expert advice and support in commercialisation and social enterprise, including help with academic consultancy services, the protection, development and licensing of ideas, new company and social enterprise creation, and seed funding.
