Inviting applications for the Translational Medicine and Therapeutics (TMAT) MPhil, Cambridge

Application deadline: 1st August 2009

The Wellcome Trust, in partnership with the University of Cambridge and GlaxoSmithKline, wishes to help reverse the declining number of new chemical entities which are being successfully registered as new drugs. They have therefore funded a new interdisciplinary training programme in Translational Medicine and Therapeutics (TMAT) with the objective of creating a new cadre of outstanding clinical scientists with the skills to “translate science into medicines”. A key aspect of the training is a new MPhil course in TMAT. This course consists of taught and practical modules in benchtop and clinical science, given by leading academics and clinicians across Cambridge and GSK. Assessment will include an essay, 12 week project (in the discipline of your choice) and a dissertation. This course is available full/part time and places are available from 1st June for 2009 entry.
