Abstract: The Cambridge Neurological Society (CNS) is proud to welcome you all to a talk by Colin Blakemore, former Chief Executive of the MRC, Professor of Neuroscience and Philosophy for the University of London and Emeritus Professor of Neuroscience at the University of Oxford. Diseases of the nervous system present Europe’s largest health, economic and social burden.  Furthermore, this burden is growing rapidly, hindered by a lack of treatments. Effective management of these issues lies in focusing biomedical research on pathogenesis and exploiting our fundamental knowledge of all areas of neurobiology.
