Restricted call: Pierre Elliott Trudeau Foundation Doctoral Scholarships (internal deadline 12.00 noon, 11 December 2019)


The Pierre Elliott Trudeau Foundation has announced its Doctoral Scholarships call.


This call is only open to University of Cambridge PhD students who are Canadian citizens.


The Foundation’s three-year program aims to train Engaged Leaders, in order to build the capacity for academics to make their research accessible beyond academia, to partner and work with a diversity of actors across society, and to help address some of the most pressing domestic and global issues of direct relevance for the future of Canada.  The theme for this programme cycle is Technology and Ethics.


Applicants must:

·         already be accepted into or in year one, two, or three of a full-time doctoral program in the humanities or social sciences (broadly defined) 

·         be carrying out doctoral work relating to at least one of the Foundation’s four central themes: Human Rights and Dignity, Responsible Citizenship, Canada and the World, People and their Natural Environment

University Internal selection:

Institutions can only submit three applications. Therefore, this call will be managed according to the University’s restricted calls policy.


To take part in the internal selection process please submit the attached internal selection form together with a support letter from the Head of the Department / Centre / Institute that will hold the grant, confirming their support for the project and agreement to host the grant to by 12.00 noon, 11 December 2019.
