Internal call for funding: EPSRC IAA Follow-on Fund (EoI Deadline 11th April 2014)

EPSRC has made an allocation to the University of Cambridge for the Impact Acceleration Account over a 3 year period. One of the aims of the fund is to enhance the exploitation of the outputs of EPSRC funded research. The University has elected to use part of this fund for a Follow-on Fund to help fund the early stages of commercialisation of technologies, to make the ideas more attractive for commercial investment. The fund is open to develop ideas which have arisen from EPSRC funded research, which may be either research grants or studentships.

Tthe Follow-on Fund call document which includes full information on the Fund, and the Follow-on Fund application form are available at www.admin.cam.ac.uk/offices/rso/internal/iaa/

Application process:

An Expression of Interest, consisting of a one paragraph description of the project, should be submitted to researchstrategy@admin.cam.ac.uk by 11th April 2014. There will be no assessment at this stage. The purpose of the EoI stage is to identify likely numbers of applications and the thematic areas of applications. Applicants who do not submit an EoI will not be considered at the full selection stage.

The deadline for submission of full proposals for this round is 9th May 2014. Applications must be made on the attached application form and be submitted to researchstrategy@admin.cam.ac.uk.

For advice on applications or with any enquiries please contact researchstrategy@admin.cam.ac.uk

The grants will be awarded as a result of competitive bids within the University. The bids will be reviewed by a cross-disciplinary selection panel consisting of academics with commercial experience nominated by the schools and industrial and investor representatives.

For the following round the submission deadline will be 29th September 2014.
