Restricted Call: Sir Jules Thorn Translational Biomedical Research Award
Internal deadline for applications: Monday 11 January
The Sir Jules Thorn Charitable Trust has announced the call for their Translational Biomedical Research Award. One grant of up to £1 million is offered to support a single outstanding research project at an advanced stage of translation, with a clear pathway to benefit for patients. The work involved must be the major commitment of the Principal Applicant, comprising the majority of their research time. However, the award may not be used to meet the salary costs of the applicant, and they therefore need to hold an institutionally funded post for the duration of the grant. Please also note that the work must involve research on patients. Examples of the type of research funded under this programme can be found in the previous awards section of the Trust’s website. For further information on the call, please refer to the funder guidance notes and the application form.
Each eligible organisation may only submit one application. Therefore, this call will be managed according to the University’s restricted calls policy. To take part in the internal selection process please submit an internal selection form and support letter from the Head of the Department/Centre/Institute to firstname.lastname@example.org by 11 January 2021. The funder deadline is the 18th February 2021. If you have any queries please contact email@example.com.
