Dr Yizhou Wan MB. BS. BSc.

We have established national registries on a cloud-based platform ORION (Outcome Registry Intervention and Operation Network). This allows us to collect prospective clinical data from a range of neurosurgical areas across different hospitals nationally. This allows us to conduct outcomes research and develop novel methods of service delivery. Specifically my research is in the following areas:

1. I am investigating the use of imaging biomarkers including with diffusion tensor imaging to help patient prognostication in high-grade glioma as part of the Predicting sites of tumour progression in the invasive margin of glioblastomas (PRaM-GBM study).

2. Using the national skull base registry to determine the epidemiology of vestibular schwannoma in the U.K. and analyse patient related quality of life following multimodality treatment.

3. I am helping to establish the national Deep brain stimulation (DBS) registry, investigating outcomes following DBS for movement disorders.
