Brain microdialysis is used in the neurocritical care unit (NCCU) to help care for patients with severe TBI. On the NCCU the microdialysis analytes of interest are glucose, lactate, pyruvate, glycrol and glutamate. The microdialysis samples can then be analysed for other substances in the lab.
