Interests

I study synapse function in neurodegenerative diseases, using organotypic brain slice cultures and electrophysiological recording techniques. In my PhD I hope to establish a relationship between the loss of presynaptic proteins in our slice culture model and functional changes in synaptic activity. Specifically, I am interested in exploring the role of amyloid precursor protein mutations and neuroinflammation in these synapse changes.
