Interests

I am interested in human decision-making across the adult lifespan. In particular, I investigate how much we can learn about individual decision-making processes by analysing a person's performance on simple perceptual reaction tasks. Plenty of valuable information is hidden in plain sight within the individual distribution of response times on such tasks. Using mathematical models (sequential sampling, LBA), I retrieve this information on the individual level in a large population-based cohort (CamCAN). Further, I combine these findings with brain imaging analysis techniques (VBM) in order to get a better mechanistic understanding of established model-based decision-making parameters and their age-related changes.
