Dr Alessandro Tomassini

Interests

My research interest lies in understanding the neural basis of decision processes with a focus on the consequences of neurological diseases. Many neuropsychiatric syndromes change behaviour including apathy and impulsivity. As part of James Rowe's group, I investigate these behavioural changes in terms of action decisions, drawing on principles and mechanisms of decision-making.Specifically, my approach combines formal computational models that capture behavioural profiles in health and disease with brain imaging techniques (MEG and fMRI) to relate behaviour to neural systems.
