Research Theme

Cellular and Molecular Neuroscience


My goal is to understand how cellular biochemistry encodes decision-making processes, particularly those processes that lead to cancer when misregulated. However, the lack of technologies that permit mapping a multitude of biochemical reactions in the living cell and their correlation with cellular behaviour limits our understanding of these spatio-temporally organized networks. I believe that a new approach to imaging techniques is necessary to overcome these limitations. Currently, I am developping novel technologies, methods and biosensors tailored to multiplex the main nodes of signalling or metabolic networks, permitting, at the same time, acute perturbation of biochemical reactions. The convergence between biochemical imaging and optogenetics is likely to impact how we do and how we understand biology.

Although I used to work on neurodegenerative diseases, now I work on cancer research; my interest in the neurosciences continues thanks to collaborative projects
