Interests

My research focuses on the relationship between brain inflammation, blood brain barrier permeability and cognition in cerebral small vessel disease (CSVD). More specifically, the research aims to investigate whether brain inflammation and blood brain barrier permeability predict cognitive impairment and future dementia risk in patients with CSVD. The wealth of MRI and PET data collected by the research group, led by Prof. Hugh Markus, opens up many avenues of research. I will potentially be analysing these data using advanced imaging analysis techniques such as tractography and network analysis to answer my research questions.
