Interests

I am a first year PhD student and my project is for understanding endoplasmic reticulum (ER) organization and roles of this existence in neurons related to neurodegeneration. ER and mitochondria are two organelles firstly became dysfunctional during neurodegeneration. ER structure are functional for its function. If we can highlight its mechanism we can better undertstand neurodegeneration and may be able to prevent it before it become severe. This project might open new area for drug discoveries. Without strong knowledge on natural mechanism it is not likely to understand the disease mechanism. ER is highly promising organelle for neuroscience studies.
