Miss Sandra PietschUniversity positionResearch Assistant DepartmentsDepartment of Physiology, Development and Neuroscience Home pageResearch ThemeInterestsI joined Professor Morton's research group in 2011. Research in the lab aims to understand the mechanisms underlying neurodegeneration and abnormal behaviour in Huntington's disease (HD). I'm focusing on the role of synaptic modulators (specifically Complexins) in neurological disease using various mouse models, including an Complexin overexpressor mouse. Complexin expression levels are altered in Huntington's disease and many other neurological diseases. I am using analytical techniques, such as Western Blot to detect protein expression in different complexin mouse models. Research Focus
