Children with DLD have complex psycholinguistic profile and some are able to adapt their behaviours better than others. This gets reflected in their peer acceptance and friendships. I aim to learn what within-child characteristics are the main contributors to children's social-emotional adaptation, assessing language, psychosocial attributes and behaviours - as outlined in the existing interpretive frameworks. My multiple case study design includes data from parent & teacher reports, classroom & playground observations, peer & friendship nominations. I conducted psycholinguistic assessment, interviews with children with DLD (n=14) & their friends (n =11), recorded a dyadic play. My analysis looks for a potential typology of children with DLD based on their peer relations; children's understanding of friendships and how it plays out in their wellbeing experiences in school.
