Restricted call: Philip Leverhulme Prize - internal deadline 19th February 2018
The Leverhulme Trust has announced the 2018 round of the Philip Leverhulme Prizes. Philip Leverhulme Prizes recognise the achievement of outstanding researchers whose work has already attracted international recognition and whose future career is exceptionally promising. Each award is worth £100,000 over two to three years. The Trust will make around 30 awards. Prizes can be used for any purpose which can advance the prize-holder's research, with the exception of enhancing prize-holder's salary. Please note the costs which the Trust considers to be ineligible for this award.
The University is restricted to three nominations per category, so this will be handled according to the restricted calls process.
Eligible candidates should:
- have been awarded their PhD in the last ten years by the closing date of 17May 2018 (i.e. the PhD award has to have been confirmed by 17 May 2008) though a case can be made for significant career breaks;
- have a permanent post or long-term Fellowship which extends beyond the date of the Leverhulme award.
There are six subject areas which are eligible to apply this year:
- Earth Sciences
- Polities and International Relations
- Visual and Performing Arts.
These categories are intentionally broad, and the Trust will consider nominations irrespective of departmental affiliation.
If you have any applicants you wish to put forward for this competition, their details should be sent to firstname.lastname@example.org by 19th February 2018 stating their name, department and giving a brief summary of their reasons for nomination (no more than 1 paragraph). You should also state which of the above subject areas they are being considered under. The nominations should be accompanied by a Head of Department / Chair of Faculty support letter confirming the applicant's eligibility and stating why they should be recommended for this award.
If you have any questions, then please write to email@example.com
