Public Engagement Starter Fund
The central Public Engagement team has launched today a Public Engagement Starter Fund scheme – a small grants scheme to help support public engagement activities for Cambridge researchers and postgraduate students.
This #StarterFund17 scheme is a continuation of the 2016 Public Engagement Seed Fund scheme, one of the activities introduced and supported by the Research Council UK Catalyst Seed Fund.
Please share the following information via your networks (bulletin, mailing lists, Twitter account) within your research groups / departments / institutions. Please use #StarterFund17 (with our handle @UniCamPublicEng). I have attached a gif or/and a jpg file for promoting this scheme.
“Public Engagement Starter Fund - #StarterFund17
The Public Engagement Starter Fund is an exciting opportunity for University of Cambridge researchers and postgraduate students to apply for small grants to undertake innovative public engagement with research activities.
For more information, please contact us via email or phone 01223 766766.”
Applicants have to be researchers or postgraduate students with an idea for a PE with Research activity or resource. Winning applications will receive support of the central PE team while completing a proposed activity and will be given training on how to start and evaluate PE. PE / science communication or outreach professionals / coordinators are not eligible to put in an application but are certainly most welcome to help researchers/postgraduate within their departments/groups complete their application forms.
A deadline for submitting applications is. A judging panel will award up to 6-8 applications and this decision will be communicated around mid-November. An evaluation training is to be scheduled for December / early January 2018.
Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have more questions or requests for clarification.
