For several years my research was focused on protein dynamics and structure. Currently, I am isolating substrates of the ubiquitin proteosome system in flies. For this purpose, I have developed a tissue-specific approach for isolating and identifying all ubiquitinated proteins in the Drosophila nervous system. I am also using this technique to try to identify the link between polyglutamine diseases and ubiquitination, using Drosophila as a model system.
My research is being funded by a Royal Society Dorothy Hodgkin Fellowship.
