Interests

How and why do individuals with autism perceive and emotionally respond to the world in a disparate way? I am examining this issue for modalities including vision, audition, touch, taste and olfaction using established perceptual sensitivity measures. I am also relating sensory hypersensitivity to brain activity, using fMRI, and to genetic variation, testing for association with SNPs in candidate genes.
