Interests

Alpha-synuclein is the main proteinaceous component of inclusions, such as Lewy bodies and glial cytoplasmic inclusions, of Parkinson’s disease and multiple system atrophy.

My research focuses on cellular models of alpha-synuclein aggregation. In particular, I am interested in the molecular pathway of alpha-synuclein seeded aggregation; how seeded aggregation occurs within cells, what is needed for seeded aggregation to occur and how cellular pathways, such as autophagy, influence alpha-synuclein aggregation.
