The main focus of my research is to use mouse organotypic hippocampal slice cultures as a tool to study sporadic Alzheimer's disease (AD). My project aims to mimic risk factors which have been associated with AD, such as diet and exercise, infection and inflammation, and oxygen glucose deprivation, in the slice culture system.
