Interests

Drawing on the data resource of the MRC Cognitive Function and Ageing study, but additionally using other population based studies; my programme provides methodologically sound estimates of health and ill health for populations. The methodological problems of missing data, misclassification of diseases and the impact of study design are common themes. Specific aims are to develop methods for estimating longitudinal healthy active life expectancy, generic models for measuring individuals’ trajectories of change (including cognitive trajectories) and incidence of disease estimates (such as dementia incidence) in the presence of informative missing data and complex study designs.

The methods developed are implemented in parallel with papers that focus on the clinical importance of the measure and hence we produce population based methodologically sound estimates that will have direct policy impact.
