Interests

During my PhD I worked on cognition and rehabilitation in Parkinson's disease patients. Currently, my research at Dr James Rowe's Lab is based on cognitive and motor impairments in Parkinson's disease (PD), under three headings,

1) Working memory abilities: Currently I belong to a long term longitunal project for the early detection of dementia in PD using a variety of markers (behaviour, genetics and neuroimaging). I am in charge of fMRI data.

2) I am also interested in the study of other PD's symptoms such as impulsivity: The definition of this concept in PD as a continuum (Impulsivity and inhibition) or the existence of different types of impulsivity depending on the appearance of atrophy and/or non-dopaminergic neurotransmitters imbalance. Also, its relation with gambling problems and the medication.

3) About motor symptomatology, PD movement and movement markers, and how to improve patients gait in daily life.
